My inspiration for this series of paintings came from a performance of the Congolese musician, Niwell Ntsumbu in sligo this summer. I have used thick layers of cardboard as my surface and carved into it to create form. I used acrylic, ink and pencil. I want to recreate the energy of the music in a visual form.

My composition is of different parts of my local landscape - the outline of distant mountains, an old house interacting with parts of the human form. I am using acrylic, black ink and pencil to create varried intensity of marks

Life in Earth

I am exploring the interaction of human form with nature in my local place. Using different marks and light and dark colours, I am working on creating an energy between the two.
